49. Wa(l)king up in the Roman Sunrise

Waking up early in Rome has a good, real, tangible reason for a photographer, being him or her a professional or an amateur: the light is magnificent! And it is not only the "regular" beauty of the Golden Hour, but it is the fact that the Golden Hour in Rome is more "Golden" than everywhere else, since the colors of Rome are "goldish" and "reddish"themselves.

Here, in the eternal city, the sun's rays are reflected on the san pietrini (as the cobblestones of Roman streets are called), on the windows and on the facades of the ancient buildings, always creating new light effects. It is a joy and an incredible experience for those who make of their cameras real tools to tell stories by writing with light, as the Greek etymology of the word "photography" suggests.
