Photograph Rome not like a tourist but like a Roman going for a Sunday stroll
I was born and bred in Rome, and since I was a child, Villa Borghese has been one of my favorite places of my hometown, a wonderful destination for calm and relaxing walk, no matter the season. I remember going to the terrace of Pincio with my grandparents to enjoy a ride on the Carousel, and a marionette show, then in adolescence with school friends, or to read a book, and in the adulthood it was the park where I went to jog everyday. Now, I like to share its beauty with fellow photographers and tourists guiding them in the art of capturing all its amazing spots, both in terms of nature, landscaping, art, and even street photography.
This world of timeless breathtaking beauty is also conveniently located near Piazza di Spagna, which allows us to extend the photo walk to the most posh and enchanting streets of downtown Rome, in the direction of the Trevi Fountain, Pantheon, and the Roman Forums.
So, whether you're into nature, landscapes, architecture, history, or street photography, this tour offers you endless possibilities to exercise, develop, or fine tune your creativity in a wide range of photography styles.
By participating to this unique walk in the park and beyond, you will earn an album-worthy experience and you will take home a collection of professional-quality shots that will preserve Rome’s intimate life in your memory and photo archive.
The four hours will be in fact focusing on the various aspects of technical photography, those essential to create your own image, just the way you would like it to be:
-
The use of natural light, and how to menage dynamic range.
-
Manual mode settings: ISO control, white balance, aperture, and shutter speed.
-
Composition: framing compelling shots using leading lines, symmetry, foreground interest, and layering.
-
Android and iPhone users are also welcome. And if you don't have a professional camera, but you would like to shoot with one, I have two fully equipped Nikon sets (D850 and D600).

What my Customers say in their Reviews: What a fantastic photo tour! I found Giulio via recommendations, I searched on his website and wrote to Giulio about availability and tour's set up details. He immediately replied and asked about equipment and interest. We kept contact regarding details prior our photo tours. I was very satisfied with Giulio's commitment, excellent planning, services therefore I took opportunity to book another tour Night photo tour in Rome. It was an amazing and educational tour. Giulio is excellent, professional photograph and guide provides safe, interesting, fun, awesome, tour! My boyfriend is an amateur photograph and wanted to immerse himself shoot in manual mode. Giulio was exceptional teacher, shared tips in photography. He explained shooting principles and for each shot he provided guidance, advice for positioning and settings. He gave attention and patience to all tour's participants. Giulio was very helpful in pointing out different photo perspectives along with technical tips, tailored learning. Throughout the tour Giulio shared Italian history and knowledge of the places that we visited. Incredibly interesting Italian history stories. I gave this tour to my boyfriend as a birthday gift, and he LOVED it. This is one of the best tours he has ever done. Thank you Giulio! This is an exceptional tour that we cannot recommend enough! Giulio is amazing guide and excellent teacher, we had a wonderful time! Alena Bartikova This experience was perfect! My personal goals for this outing were to photograph some hidden treasures of Rome, but also to elevate and inspire my creative talent with my new photography hobby. I have been doing primarily landscape photography for a few years, but now that I am traveling more I wanted to explore travel and street photography. The guide, Giulio, is an accomplished photographer of many years. He not only knew where some unique spots were but was also very helpful in talking about the composition/setting to help interpret the shot in different ways. At the end of the tour we stopped in a cafe and he reviewed some of my favorite pictures from the past several years and offered good critique on what editing I could do to improve them even more. All in all, the experience has elevated me a bit to the next level of photography, allowed me to see and capture some more quiets spots in Rome and helped introduce me to new genres….well worth it. Plus it was fun! When I return to Italy I will definitely book another outing with Giulio. Gerard Thanks, Giulio! If you need any help with your pics in Rome, or anywhere for that matter, Giulio is your man. I really needed some professional help a while back and within the first hour or so Giulio pointed out a few flaws in my pic taking techniques. This tour worked out especially well for Rome because he knows the streets and some really good notable spots to go clicking away. Thanks again for the help and all the better future picks I will be taking going forward. Paul Such a great tour! I was in Rome last October. I had only four days to do and see everything. I booked several tours and the photography tour and workshop with Giulio from Rome PhotoFun Tours was by far the best of all. He taught me plenty of photography things as we were pleasantly walking from one beautiful place to another, in a very well planned tour. I was also very pleased by Giulio's friendly and professional personality. I would not hesitate one bit to recommend his tour to anybody. Toni Thank you so much for an absolutely incredible photo tour! The Morning Light photo tour exceeded my wildest imagination. I booked the tour almost 6 months ago, and was really looking forward to it. Giulio was an exceptional guide as he was informative about both photography and the city of Rome. I can't possibly recommend this experience enough. Joelle Great tour with a true Professional! Giulio was right on time and spoke very good English, which made the tour very easy flowing. He was very friendly and eager to share his trade. His overall photographic knowledge combined with his in depth knowledge of Rome’s best photo spots made it a very productive tour. I went to places and made photos that I never would have been able to make without him. Daniel Impeccable and Educational Photo Tour! Lorraine and I had a sensational time with Giulio the other day. Giulio delivered everything we hoped for and more. He got us to the right places at the right times in order to take advantage of the best light. He brought us to the best known monuments and beautiful, off-the-beaten-track spots. Giulio was a great guide and coach. I’ve been taking photos for years but, with Giulio, found I still had plenty to learn. He was patient, accommodating and clearly loves what he does. His enthusiasm was contagious. He was also a fascinating person to spend the morning with. John and Lorraine
